01.03.2024 by Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Vancouver

From 1 to 3 March this year, thanks to the initiative of the Consulate General of the Republic of Poland in Vancouver, an extraordinary Chopin Marathon took place. The event was a tribute to the unparalleled legacy of Fryderyk Chopin, one of the most outstanding Polish composers.

In the intimate atmosphere of the Tom Lee Music concert hall, the participants of the marathon had the opportunity to explore and celebrate the music of F. Chopin for three days, 8 hours each day. The event brought together over 140 young, talented musicians who, under the supervision of 40 experienced professors, shared their interpretations of the Master's works with the audience, thus emphasizing the eternal value and relevance of his works.

The success of this undertaking would not have been possible without the support and cooperation of the Chopin Society in Vancouver and Tom Lee Music. The involvement of these organizations made it possible to celebrate the anniversary of the birth of the great composer in a particularly solemn way.

Consul General, Mrs. Aleksandra Kucy, inaugurated the event with a formal address.

President of Vancouver Chopin Society Mr. Patrick May gave remarks.

Vice President of Tom Lee Music Mr. Graham Blank gave remarks.
