HISTORY OF SENNHEISER

Sennheiser was founded in 1945 by electrical engineer, Prof. Dr. Fritz Sennheiser. Over the years, the company has continuously been setting trends in the audio/music industry. Sennheiser products like the Sennheiser HD650, HD650 and HD280 Pro have been recognized as a result of the trailblazing ideas of their developers and consistently reach and satisfy audiophiles around the world. Among their achievements are two Innovation Prizes of German Industry, the Scientific and Engineering Award, a Grammy Award, and the Emmy Award, the most significant television prize in the United States.

There have been many technological milestones set by Sennheiser over the years - the first directional mic in the fifties, the open headphone in the sixties, infrared transmission technology in the seventies, and multichannel cordless transmission in the eighties.
