Silvy Lin, graduate from the Yamaha Education Course, was awarded with the Tom Duffin Memorial Scholarship at the Yamaha Junior Original Composition (JOC) Music Camp at Whistler last Saturday for her achievements over the past years as a JOC participant.

Silvy is 13 and is a grade 8 student at Eric Hamber Secondary School. Presently, she is studying violin with Mr. Jonathan Ng and piano with Mrs. Miho Estabrook. She began her studies in music at the age of four with Mrs. Rebecca Cheng from the Yamaha Junior Music Course in Richmond at the Tom Lee Music Academy. She continued her studies in the Junior Special Advanced Course and Special Advanced Course. She has composed several original compositions and has been invited to perform nationally in Winnipeg, Calgary and internationally in Boston.
