We recently teamed up with Taylor Guitars to host an engaging series of guitar talks and demos at our Vancouver and Langley stores. The Taylor Guitars Road Show was an exciting opportunity for guitar enthusiasts to test drive some of our top notch acoustic guitars and a handful of exclusive, custom built models. Both evenings were packed with guitar fanatics and music appreciators. We want to extend a huge thank you to all our friends and colleagues who came out to play and hear the beautiful limited edition and custom built guitars.

TAYLOR GUITARS ROAD SHOW STAFF PICKS

If you are new to the brand, we recommend starting small with the Baby Taylor series. These compact guitars offer an authentic, natural sound and inviting playing experience. Play it on the tour bus, around the campfire or help your kids form their first guitar chords. For a step up compact acoustic guitar, we recommend the Taylor GS Mini. This modern parlour guitar boasts a layered rosewood back and sides with onboard tone and volume control knobs. Both acoustic models are an accessible introduction into the dynamic world of Taylor Guitars.

TAYLOR GUITARS ROAD SHOW HIGHLIGHTS

One of our favourite highlights from the recent road show is the Taylor 814CE nylon guitar. The balance, warmth and articulation are great for fingerstyle playing but the instrument has enough strumming power to front a band. Top notch features include maple binding, rosewood pick guard, ebony fretboard and the innovative new Taylor expression system . Such a thing of beauty!

Our second road show highlight is the gorgeous Taylor K14CE acoustic guitar. The mastergrade Hawaiian Koa provides a stunning punch, shimmer and impressive sustain while the cedar top rounds off a beautiful blend of bright and mellow tone woods. The look is perfectly complemented with diamond boxwood inlays and a shaded edgeburst finish.

But of course nothing can compare to a premium, custom made guitar. The BTO #8481: Grand Auditorium AA Claro Walnut Guitar has one of the tightest and beautifully grained Sitka spruce tops we have ever seen. It's not only visually striking but the contrasting walnut and spruce woods make for one sonically dynamic pairing. The custom grand auditorium guitar is perfectly matched for fingerstyle guitarist or soft strummers.
