An upscale Manhattan apartment that was once home to world renowned musical legend David Bowie recently hit the market for $6.495 million. The British musician and actor, born David R. Jones, purchased the three-bedroom apartment in 1991, according to records on PropertyShark. He and his beautiful wife, the model Iman, lived in the Essex House property for over a decade and sold the property in 2002. Bowie died in January 2016 at the age of 69. Sweetening the deal for music lovers, Bowie’s Yamaha piano is included in the sale, handed down through various owners of the apartment. In addition to this precious souvenir, some other touches from the couple remain intact including a panelled dressing room built and some cleverly hidden shelves in the living room. The property includes 1,877 square feet of living space, featuring three bedrooms and two and a half bathrooms. The spacious living room spans 28 feet and offers spectacular views of Central Park. The Essex House was built in 1929 and converted to condominium hotel by Marriott Corporation in 1974. The building includes about 180 residences between its 4th and 40th floors.
