Crescendo International Competition – Honor Recital at Carnegie Hall’s Weill’s Hall
On Monday February 17, 2014, eighteen Vancouver students performed at the Crescendo International Piano Competition at Carnegie’ s Weill’s Hall. It is quite an experience for the children to have an opportunity to play in this historical building. The concert went smoothly and all students were presented with very elegantly designed certificates. All first place winners were awarded a small scholarship for encouragement.
Students from Korea, Russia, Canada, and China joined in the performance. Performances include solo piano, violin, clarinet, voice, strings ensembles, and piano ensembles. There are over 20 different concerts held in the last month by Crescendo, and February 17 is the last day of these concerts. Despite the fact that the concert ran over time leaving us with no time for group pictures, all contestants had a great time performing on a great Steinway piano in this beautiful hall.
