The Vancouver Aquarium Marine Science Centre recently celebrated its ninth annual Night at the Aquarium fundraising gala. The evening featured brilliant music from Vancouver’s premier event band, Side One, and music from one of our very own Steinway grand pianos.
As guests made their way into the aquarium, they were welcomed with the soft tones of Steinway music played by pianist Diego Kohl. There was an exceptional selection of spirits and wine to choose from, as well as an array of decadent dishes. A live auction took place, emceed by local man-about-town Fred Lee, and the performance by Side One had guests up on their feet.
Over $360,000 was raised at this year’s Night at the Aquarium gala, with proceeds going towards the Aquarium’s conservation, research and education programs, ranging from its Marine Mammal Rescue Centre to a project designed to disentangle sea lions along the coast of British Columbia who have been ensnared by debris.
