15" 2-Way Passive Loudspeaker
Often, the trajectory of a band, a brand, a business, or a career can be distilled down to a single pivotal moment that changed everything. When these moments arrive it’s imperative to ensure that the audience is experiencing the full range of an artist’s or speaker’s expression and the sheer passion of their performance. The new CXRmk3 is the passive model of Yamaha’s updated DXRmk3 series loudspeakers, contributing to the legacy of power and premium sound established by one of Yamaha’s most celebrated loudspeaker lineups. The new series sees a significant improvement in acoustic performance, speaker design, and flexibility, making it equally at home in portable applications or fixed installations. Equipped with Yamaha’s own high-durability LF/HF speaker units, a new lightweight, high-performance molded enclosure, and an updated horn and port design that enhances high-frequency directivity and optimizes low-frequency response, the CXRmk3 will empower users with the capability and confidence they need for those crucial moments when sound makes all the difference in the world.
The Yamaha CXR15 mk3 is the third-generation version of Yamaha's active 2-way loudspeaker, bringing with it refined porting, newly developed transducers, and passive operation with up to 1100W of peak power handling. With an updated horn an port design, the CXR15 mk3 offers optimized low-end response and high-end directivity.
The new lightweight, high-performance molded enclosure and rubber-coated handles make setup easier than ever. The speaker supports numerous mounting options, including dual-angle pole mounting and suspended rigging via M10 and M8 mounting slots. The speaker can also be as a floor monitor, providing a 55° angle. The improved 15" low-frequency cone and 1.75" compression driver has been enhanced for optimized acoustic performance. When used in conjunction with Yamaha PX and PC-D series amps, you can take full advantage of Yamaha speaker processing.
Enhanced HF Directivity and LF Response
The large-diameter horn secures directivity control across a wide frequency range. Optimized port positioning also reduces standing wave effects, resulting in smoother and more accurate low-frequency response.
Proprietary High-Durability Driver Units
All CXR mk3 loudspeakers use Yamaha's high-durability custom LF/HF units. The LF driver provides symmetrical movement for linear bass, while the HF polyimide diaphragm reduces distortion and increases reliability. The redesigned cabinet also relocates sound ports to optimize airflow and enhance acoustic performance under demanding use conditions, ensuring superior sonic fidelity and outstanding reliability across applications.
Molded Enclosure
Utilizing a lightweight, high-strength, form-injection molded enclosure, the design achieves both weight reduction and attenuation of cabinet resonance that can result in bass loss. The ergonomically designed enclosure offers not only aesthetic appeal but also outstanding usability.
Supports Intelligent Processing
When used in combination with Yamaha PX and PC-D Series amplifiers or other compatible signal processors, CXR mk3 series loudspeakers can take full advantage of dedicated speaker processor tuning settings.
Symmetrical Design
The design supports mirror placement for all models when floor mounted, allowing symmetrical HF positioning for precise stage monitoring.
Dual-Angle Pole Socket
All CXR mk3 series models feature pole mount sockets with both horizontal 0 and 7° down-angle positions, enabling focused coverage for clearer sound delivery to the audience.
Eyebolt Rigging Points
Rigging points compatible with commercial eyebolts are provided, allowing flexible installation with wires and shackles.
Optional Accessories
Optional U-brackets are available for fixed installations, supporting both vertical and horizontal mounting. These brackets (sold separately) are compatible with K&M wall/ceiling brackets for flexible installation. Optional speaker covers are also available for all models, protecting speakers from scratches, dust, and dirt during transport and storage as well as from unexpected weather during outdoor performances.
