Large-Diaphragm Multipattern Tube Condenser Microphone
The UT Tube67 is United’s faithful homage to one of the most revered microphones ever made—celebrated for its velvety, full-bodied tone that has defined countless classic recordings since the 1960s. Powered by a hand-selected NOS EF86 pentode vacuum tube, the UT Tube67 delivers a warm, intimate sound with a smooth top end that makes it a go-to choice for vocals, while also excelling on strings, woodwinds, brass, piano, drums, and guitars. A switchable Air Mod provides the option of a subtle top-end lift, bringing extra clarity to transient detail.
Custom United Capsule
At the core of the UT Tube67 is a custom United UT K67 capsule, a historically correct dual-backplate/dual-diaphragm design. Each diaphragm is 24k gold-sputtered on precision 6-micron Mylar in a clean-room environment, optimized for the microphone's operating voltage and tuned to original vintage specifications. Inspired by a superior 1970s capsule, it delivers natural low and low-mid frequencies while avoiding the harsh resonances often found in modern reproductions.
Custom United Transformer
The microphone's output stage features a custom-wound, US-made UT-BV12 transformer, measured against a prized original to ensure the same tight bass and smooth saturation that helped define the legendary sound. Built with high-nickel alloy laminations and a copper Faraday shield for superior rejection of radio-frequency interference, the transformer guarantees low-noise operation, extended headroom, and the unmistakable richness of a true tube microphone.
Built without Compromise
From its boutique-quality internals to its rugged external build, the UT Tube67 is engineered to perform at the highest level. A custom Sommer Octave 7-pin cable, regulated power supply, shockmount, and vintage-style storage pouch are all included, with assembly and final testing conducted in the USA at United's facility. This isn't just another clone—it's United's personal homage to one of the greatest microphones in recording history.
