The BiG [Studio] redefines what’s possible in stereo enhancement, expanding your mix with greater width, depth, and presence, all while maintaining perfect mono compatibility. Housed in the sleek black design of the SPL Studio Series, this 19" rackmount processor offers both innovation and analog warmth through a completely new stereo-processing architecture powered by ±18V high-voltage rails for maximum headroom and clarity.
Redefining BiG Stereo Sound
Unlike conventional M/S widening, BiG [Studio] uses a unique analog difference-signal network that enlarges the stereo field naturally and musically. Three intuitive controls-Range, Bigness, and Stage-let you select which frequencies are affected, how much width is applied, and where that range sits within the stereo field. The result is a soundstage that feels vivid and spacious, yet remains phase-accurate when summed to mono.
Tube Magic and Harmonic Depth
A newly designed tube circuit introduces controlled harmonic enhancement for more lifelike, analog dimension. The Tube Harmonics control determines the intensity, while the Harmonics switch activates the circuit once it has reached its ideal operating temperature. A dedicated Bass switch adds fullness and impact at the low end, derived from SPL's acclaimed AirBass filter found in the IRON Mastering Compressor.
Built for Professional Integration
Engineered for the studio environment, BiG [Studio] features Neutrik XLR and TRS connectors with gold-plated contacts, wired in parallel for flexible routing. Electronically balanced inputs and outputs operate at +6 dB nominal level, while a rear-panel ground-lift switch eliminates hum and interference in complex studio systems.
