A workhorse mic that can handle a wide variety of studio and live tasks, the Sennheiser MD 421 KOMPAKT Microphone features the same cardioid, dynamic mic element from the original 421 popularized by the recording and broadcast industry, but housed in a smaller, more compact chassis with an updated mounting clip that makes it easier to position, especially on drum kits. The smaller size also gives the mic a lower profile for podcasting applications.This configuration includes the MZH drum clamp, allowing you to attach the mic directly to the rim of your snares and toms.

A Versatile Performer

• While the MD 421 KOMPAKT is excellent for drums, the ability to handle high SPLs and a frequency response of 30 Hz to 17 kHz give this mic a lot of flexibility, and engineers use it on a variety of vocal and instrumental sources, including guitar cabinets and brass instruments.
• The mic delivers consistent signal response within a reasonable range, providing even vocal reproduction whether close-up or at a slightly removed distance.
