The Meinl 7" Yellow Compact Junior Djembe is an ultra-portable, lightweight drum with a huge sound for youngsters just getting into playing music. The synthetic shell is considerably lighter and more durable than the traditional wooden shells, providing a much safer option for being handled by elementary school students.
The plastic head is held by the pre-stretched ropes for long-term consistent tuning, even if it is taken and played outdoors from time to time! The use of a synthetic head makes it stay sounding great for a long time and still produces the low bass tones and high slaps that are characteristic of djembes.
