Flight Comet EQ-A Blue Tenor Ukulele
The Flight Comet EQ-A is a stunning addition to our Royal Series. The most striking feature of the Comet is its all-solid stained flamed maple top which is paired with a solid mango back and sides. The stunning maple top produces a bright clear tone, while the mango back and sides round out the sound. A newly designed side sound completes the look. Additionally, the Comet comes with a headstock that matches the soundboard, offset position markers, scalloped cutaway, active pickup, and deluxe gig bag. How sweet it is
The Flight Comet features a solid mango body paired with solid flamed maple top. Mango has a distinctive grain and appearance, and some players feel that it sounds similar to koa. Mango has a warm, resonant, rich sound with great sustain. Paired with a solid flamed maple top – You won’t believe how “sweet” this sounds!

African mahogany neck & rosewood fingerboard
The African mahogany neck is strong and smooth, helping to add to the warm tone of the Flight Comet. The fretboard is made of rosewood, a beautiful, strong, and hard wood that can add warmth to the sound of an instrument while lessening harsh higher frequencies of an instrument.

Bone compensated saddle and pin bridge
The Comet features a rosewood bridge, as well as a real bone nut and a compensated saddle. Compensated saddles help to properly set the intonation of each string. The Comet includes a pin bridge system, which helps keep the strings properly aligned on the ukulele, as well as to create a break angle over the saddle that transfers vibrations efficiently to the mango soundboard of the ukulele.

The Flight Comet features a Blackwood rosette, comfort edge, and scalloped cutaway. The comfort edge makes the ukulele incredibly comfortable to play, and the scalloped cutaway offers access to the highest frets without compromising the volume and tone of the ukulele.

Unique Side Soundhole Design
Why let everyone else hear how wonderful your ukulele sounds and not gain the benefit yourself? At Flight we realised that you can hear the full tone and volume of our ukes by introducing a sound hole at the top of the instrument. We also feel it contributes to the quality of the sound as a whole. Some people aren’t a fan of the appearance of a side sound hole which is why we have created an intricate design that gives you all the benefits of a normal sound hole whilst maintaining a solid appearance to the structure.

Double C1U active pickup
In 2020 we moved to using Double C1U active pickups in our electro-acoustic ukuleles. The controls for the pickup are mounted underneath the sound hole, meaning that a cavity does not have to be created on the side of the ukulele for the pickup. Most importantly, they sound great!

Bold and striking headstock design
The Flight Comet shares the unique “modified” slotted headstock as some of the other ukuleles in our Royal Series. The headstock looks amazing and will attract action on its own, while the design is strong and effective, making sure that the break angle at the nut results in the best possible tone of your ukulele.

Why do you need a humidifier?
If you live in an area with low humidity, the wood of any instrument can dry and warp, causing issues with playability, such as fret buzz and dead string sounds. This isn’t a design fault; it’s how wood behaves naturally. We love the instruments we make, and we want you to continue enjoying them. Our Flight Comet, as well as the Royal Series, comes with a Flight Ukulele Humidifier included.
