KeyStep 37 mk2 is the ultimate compact controller and sequencer for hybrid setups. Combining a 37-note Slimkey keyboard with aftertouch, powerful generative sequencing tools, enhanced hands-on control, and deep hardware/software connectivity, it gives you the keys to control virtually anything—whether you're driving a modular rig, hardware synths, or soft synths in your DAW.

Expressive Playability in a Compact Format

KeyStep 37 mk2 features a velocity-sensitive 37-note Slimkey keyboard with aftertouch for nuanced performance in a streamlined footprint. Two capacitive touchstrips handle pitch bend and modulation, while Chord and Scale modes make it easy to explore harmonies and stay musically grounded. A 39-LED light guide above the keybed provides clear visual feedback of notes played, and the refreshed interface adds a new OLED display with a clickable encoder for intuitive navigation.

A Generative Ideas Machine

More than a controller, KeyStep 37 mk2 is a creative sequencing powerhouse. Its polyphonic step sequencer offers up to 64 steps with 8-voice polyphony, pattern chaining, and quantized or unquantized recording for capturing everything from tight grooves to natural live feel. The 16-mode arpeggiator includes classic and generative pattern styles, while tools like Mutate, Spice, and Dice transform sequences in real time—adding variations, adjusting note lengths, injecting rhythmic randomness, and evolving ideas without stopping the music. Four dedicated encoders provide direct control over arpeggiator, sequencer, and Mutate parameters, and can be freely assigned to MIDI CC or CV/Gate destinations.

Deep Connectivity for Any Setup

Designed for seamless integration into modern hybrid studios, KeyStep 37 mk2 offers USB-C MIDI (class-compliant and bus powered), full-size MIDI DIN in/out, 3.5mm sync in/out, sustain/expression pedal input, and four configurable CV outputs—Pitch, Gate, Mod 1, and the new Mod 2. CV destinations can be assigned to velocity, aftertouch, mod wheel, and more, making it a powerful modular controller. A power switch and Kensington lock slot complete the back panel, while low-power operation ensures iPad compatibility (camera connection kit required).

With expanded physical controls—including five additional keys, two extra buttons, four encoders, and enhanced visual feedback—KeyStep 37 mk2 builds on its predecessor with a more powerful sequencer and arpeggiator, new generative tools, extended connectivity, and a refreshed design. Included software such as Analog Lab Intro (500+ sounds) and Ableton Live Lite make it ready for immediate music creation, whether in the studio, onstage, or wherever inspiration strikes.
