Seagull Guitars is a finely crafted sub brand of the Godin Guitar family founded by Robert Godin. Proudly made in Canada, Seagull Guitars were created for the purpose of taking the essential components of the best hand-crafted guitars and building those features into something all working musicians could afford. HISTORY OF SEAGULL GUITARS

The first Seagull guitar was produced in the Village of LaPatrie, Quebec in 1982. Almost half of today’s population of LaPatrie have dedicated their lives to building guitars. Aside from their acoustic guitars, the company also produces Seagull mandolins, ukuleles and guitar cases to ensure your instrument is protected and ready to take with you on-the-go. From their award-winning Seagull S6 Original to the exquisite sound of their Artist Series guitars, Seagull is devoted to providing reliable and affordable instruments for everyone. For over 30 years, the company has been building products with the utmost attention to detail.

Robert Godin, owner of Godin guitars, explained in an interview that “[the company’s] motivation for this project was to create a new acoustic design that would simultaneously improve sound and structural integrity. As a general rule better sound comes with more delicate construction. Conversely, stronger construction, such as thicker tops and heavier bracing, stifles the sound”. Overall, the company’s commitment to its musical instruments are resembled in Seagull’s dedication to sustainably sourcing all of their wood to reduce their overall environmental impact.
