Vancouver’s hottest art party returned on April 24th, with a brand new collection of art pieces on display. The name FUSE couldn’t be any more appropriate, as the night featured an infusion of inspiring art and compelling music, including a dynamic piano performance by Rachel Iwaasa on a Steinway Grand.

The Vancouver Art Gallery was rich with artistic expression – both visually and musically, as three floors were utilized for this unique event. The evening was curated by special guest, David Pay, one of today’s leading classical and contemporary music programmers.

Pianist Rachel Iwaasa teamed up with Vancouver DJ, Michael Red to perform two pieces. The first was a reinterpretation of Arvo Pärt's Für Alina, the beautiful, minimalist work that set the world on its ear with a new musical simplicity. Their second piece served as the conclusion to FUSE and the “Silence” theme, a remix of Cosmophony, new piano music that explores the cosmos.
