Canadian Acoustic Guitar Showcase

In the News

2010.02.19 - Vancouver Sun -  C18 Shop Canada - Downtown

Canada has been one of the world's finest acoustic guitar manufacturing industries - a fact very evident by the Canadian Acoustic Guitar Showcase display at Tom Lee Music's 929 Granville Street location.

Brands such as Vancouver's Larrivee Guitars and Morgan Guitars, as well as Seagull Guitars from La Patrie, Quebec, show the quality, value and diversity of this small but important industry. Although the world will be visiting Vancouver this February, there is also a lot to see for local guitar and music enthusiasts, or anyone interested in fine craftsmanship in wood.

The Canadian Acoustic Guitar Showcase includes a historical display highlighting the beginnings of Larrivee, Morgan and Seagull, including many old photos, written histories and early Canadian-made guitars. Also included are interesting artifacts such as inlay examples, guitar parts and woods.

Larrivee has produced a stunning one-of-a-kind custom guitar for this event that features the finest highly-figured woods and a custom Canadian maple leaf themed inlay motif. There is also the Larrivee Canadian Edition, a run of special guitars built in Vancouver that features a beautiful maple leaf fret board inlay in bubinga wood available exclusively at Tom Lee Music.

Also on display is the Morgan Winter Trio Series, a custom run of three guitars in three different body shapes, featuring exotic and extremely figured woods and custom snowflake inlay fret board.

A complete range of Seagull Guitars are on display including some hand-signed by Seagull founder Robert Godin.
