 UK heartthrobs One Direction are giving their Vancouver fans an opportunity to experience a true 1D world. An extraordinary opportunity for dedicated “Directioners”, the 1D World retail store will open for a limited time in Vancouver on December 8. The store will offer fans exclusive merchandise and the opportunity to win One Direction prizes. Previous openings in New York and Australia indicate a strong possibility for a passionate, crowd-drawing response in the lead up to door-opening.
With One Direction’s new album “Take Me Home” reaching No 1. in 32 countries and generating 500 million views on YouTube, Vancouver is bracing itself for pandemonium as North America’s first 1D World store opens its doors. The original 1D World debuted in Australia, and was attended by thousands of screaming teens who lined up through the night, chanting and singing their favourite One Direction tunes.
The chart-topping boy band is giving their fans the opportunity to experience a true 1D world. For a limited time, “Directioners” will have access to exclusive merchandise and the chance to win One Direction prizes.
With the recent release of their new album “Take Me Home”, which has reached No 1. in 32 countries, fans will have another reason to celebrate with merchandise such as posters, calendars, t-shirts, and much more to complete their 1D experience.
One Direction is making boy band history, as few pop acts can boast having a debut album (Up All Night) reach No. 1 in 15 countries, over 500 million views on YouTube and millions of loyal fans from around the world impatiently waiting for the next tweet.
The original 1D World debuted in Australia, with thousands of young fans lining up hours in advance, chanting and singing their favourite One Direction tunes. The Vancouver launch comes on the heels of the recent New York City 1D World opening.
“These stores have excited fans all over the world, and we’re already seeing an outpouring of One Direction affection in Vancouver,” said Barry Drinkwater, Managing Director of Global Merchandising Services, the event merchandising organization responsible for 1D World launches all over the globe.
As the holiday season approaches, One Direction fans will have the opportunity to give back to the local community by bringing a non-perishable food item for donation to the Greater Vancouver Food Bank at the 1D World Vancouver opening. By donating a food item, Directioners will be entered to win coveted merchandise.
